The sky has finally burst open, heavy drops are clattering against the window and a quick flash is followed by a distant rumbling. I see glimpses of peace, a remembering of a moment that never occurred. If only I could transport into this other universe, where I'm watching a thunderstorm and all is well. I want all to be well.
The rain patters on and my sadness is lifted momentarily, but then it stops and the quiet returns. Time resumes ticking. Tick, tick, tick. I need it to stop. The church bell rings, as if to mock me.
This moment, a respite, as the rain pours and a breeze enters through the open window to make the curtains dance.
I wish to live in it forever.
